Ntini died at Karanda hospital after falling ill while he was in Botswana where he was coaching in the second tier league.

Many in the football fraternity including players, coaches and administrators bad farewell to Ntini at a church service held in Harare yesterday before the body was taken to Mhondoro-Ngezi for burial.

Among those that attended the service were former Caps United club president Twine Phiri, coaches that included among others, Taurai Mangwiro, Nesbert Saruchera, David George and Munyaradzi Diya.

Some of the players that he coached at Caps United and Shooting Stars who were at the service include Limited Chikafa and Tineyi Meda. The secretary general of the Zimbabwe Coaches Union Newsome Mutema was among those in the football fraternity that travelled to Mhondoro-Ngezi for burial.

Caps United, who paid for the funeral service, were represented by board members Willard Manyengavana, Desmond Ali, Alois Bunjira and team manager Shakespeare Chinogwenya.

Mutema who gave a speech grave side, thanked Caps for financing the funeral, and described Ntini as a hard worker and good ambassador for Zimbabwean football.

“Ntini was a hard worker, he was one of 41 Caf A licensed coaches, he always strived to better his football knowledge,” he said. “We have lost a good coach who was also a good ambassador as he was doing well in Botswana where he had two stints. He was a rare character who spoke his mind and we will miss him.”
