The tour will be his second jaunt to Mozambique after memorable performances in Manica and Chimoio provinces three years ago.

The award-winning singer told NewsDay yesterday that he was anticipating the tour, which has also presented a golden opportunity for video shoots for his latest album set for release end of next month.

“We are aiming at spreading the gospel throughout the world and evangelising through music and this Mozambican tour is an opportunity for us to do so. I promise more fireworks for our fans there (Mozambique),” Mhere said.

“During the tour, we are going to shoot some scenes for our Double Double DVD, that will be directed by award-winning producer Willard “Slimaz” Magombedze. The DVD will carry nine videos, two of which will be new songs.”

The 27-year-old pint-sized singer said his latest album, which carries deep worship messages and reflects on social and Biblical issues, was getting positive feedback from fans.

Songs like Makorokoza Muchurch, the title track Double Double, Nhau YaNoah and Elijah NaMwari have taken the gospel music lovers by storm.

The album’s title track is sitting on pole position on Star FM’s Gospel Greats programme, while the track Makorokoza Muchurch is in the top 10 on Radio Zimbabwe’s top 20.

Other tracks on the 10-track album that was recorded at The Voice of Thunder (VOT) Studios are Kesari, Chanza, Simba, Nhava Yebenzi, Jatropha and Zimbabwe.

Mhere’s previous albums, which proved to be a success, include Tinoda Nyasha, Anoita Minana, Nguva YeNyasha and Glory to Glory.
