A former gardener, Matsito last released an album in 2013 called Kurongerana.

The Manyemwe Emhuru hitmaker told NewsDay that music lives in him and he will not drop the microphone despite the piracy phenomenon that has left many local artistes counting their loses.

“My 23rd album will be out in July and if it had not been that I had a turbulent life after the accident, I could have been maybe releasing my 25th album. Its title (Mandipa Mukana) speaks for itself, God has given me the chance to live with all that I have done and achieved in my life being because of the chances he has offered me,” Matsito said.

The 46-year-old Matsito said the album to be recorded at Alick Macheso’s Alema Studios in Chitungwiza will feature songs like title track Mandipa Mukana, Zvinodamoyo and Jena Shena.

Matsito is well-known for the hit songs among them Varaidzo, Gede, Pachikomana Ndiyo and PaChinhoyi.
