After a successful show at Kingstone House in the capital a fortnight ago, Mhere yesterday took the album, which carries deep worship messages that also reflect on social and Biblical issues, to Beitbridge, as he performed at Pagomba Café.

Speaking to NewsDay ahead of yesterday’s show, the Gutu-bred singer said the positive feedback from his fans was overwhelming as his fifth studio album penetrates the market.

“As our commitment to spread the gospel throughout the world and evangelising through music, we will be touring the country meeting our fans and also giving them the opportunity to have a one-on-one interaction with the band,” Mhere said.

“My mission is to make sure that the message carried in our songs touches souls and strengthens people faced with life’s challenges. We have to take the album to the people as a way of honouring them for their massive support, which is so encouraging since we ventured into music industry.”

After two months of the album’s release, Mhere’s plans to take it across the country will only be provide his fans with the opportunity to meet and see him perform live, as a snap survey by this publication has indicated the album has already gone viral countrywide due to piracy.

As witnessed during some of his recent live shows, fans were left clamouring for more, demanding the musician repeat some of the songs like Makorokoza Muchurch, title track Double Double, Nhau YaNoah and Elijah NaMwari, which has taken the showbiz by storm.

The songs are also receiving massive air play on local radio stations with Double Double sitting on position two on Star FM’s Gospel Greats and Makorokoza Muchurch is in the top 10 on Radio Zimbabwe top 20.

The 10-track album that was recorded at The Voice of Thunder (VOT) Studios features songs among them Makorokoza Muchurch, Nhau YaNoah, Elijah NaMwari, Kesari, Chanza, Simba, Nhava Yebenzi, Jatropha and Zimbabwe.

The 27-year-old pint-sized Mhere’s previous albums that proved to be a success include Tinoda Nyasha, Anoita Minana, Nguva YeNyasha and Glory to Glory.
