DeMbare hope he can help them cash in on points, but they are almost guaranteed of hefty cash rewards after hiking gate charges with the rest of the ground ticket pegged at $5, upper west grand stand set at $10 with those wishing to watch from the VIP set to fork out $15.

This week, Dynamos had been running around to ensure that Gwekwerere was registered on coach Paulo Jorge Silva’s demands.

Gwekwerere’s manager Frank Bokosha confirmed that the striker’s deal had been completed.

“It’s a done deal. He has received his clearance,” Bokosha said, before referring further questions to Dynamos secretary-general Webster Chikengezha.

The latest development means Silva now has wider options upfront as he battles to save his job.

A source close to the goings-on at Dynamos said Gwekwerere would play a part in the big clash against their bitter rivals.

The Portuguese coach has been on the prowl for a lethal forward and after close scrutiny of Gwekwerere at training, he was left convinced he could close the gap in his front line.

After watching the former Caps United striker for less than a week in training, Silva asked his bosses to sign him on and he has been given a two-year deal.

The forceful forward makes a return to the Glamour Boys, having spent three years in Mozambique, where he turned out for Ferroviario de Maputo and later Textas.

He also played for rivals Caps United after a stint in South Africa, where he turned out for Moroka Swallows.

Dynamos failed to score in five successive matches in both the league and cup competitions before last week’s 2-1 win over Mutare City.

The Portuguese coach has got to win the match against Caps on Sunday to secure his job.

He was instructed to collect full marks against Mutare, Caps and Hwange and he managed to clear the first hurdle. A stumble in any of the remaining two matches will effectively seal his fate.

If Dynamos management stays true to their word, it means Silva can ill-afford a draw on Sunday against a confident Caps United, who are yet to taste defeat so far this season.
