Before Parliament adjourned last month, Chinotimba raised a point of order with Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Marbel Chinomona that he was worried over the lack of urgency in presenting the audit report which unearthed gross abuse of funds at PSMAS.

“I rise to raise a point of order, that we debated about PSMAS in this august House where on February 20 2015 government ordered a forensic investigation of PSMAS, but to date the report is not yet out,” Chinotimba said.

“I would want to present the forensic report of the investigations myself because PSMI doctors are striking and people are dying.”

Chinomona urged Chinotimba to introduce the issue as a motion when the House resumes sitting tomorrow.

Bulawayo South MP Eddie Cross last month also introduced a motion calling on government to arrest all PSMAS looters, including Parirenyatwa who is said to have illegally received $100 000 in unspecified allowances.

PSMAS has reportedly lost large sums of money through hefty salaries and allowances although the institution has a staggering debt of $144 million owed to service providers.

Government has pledged to take over the health insurer and pay off its debts.

Cross in his capacity as MDC-T secretary for local government last Friday added the opposition party had ordered a probe into alleged looting of $200 000 at Harare Municipality Medical Aid Society (HMMAS) where board members gave themselves hefty loans at a time the institution was failing to pay service providers.

The matter has sucked in town planner and HMMAS chairperson Sasha Jogi, city health director Prosper Chonzi and councillor Panganayi Charumbira.

The trio appeared in court last Friday on fraud charges and was remanded to February 14 next year.
