AFTER spending 2015 in the music wilderness, where he struggled to get bookings for live shows, gospel musician Munyaradzi Munodawafa has been thrown a lifeline by Victory Power International as he is part of the cast that is scheduled to perform at the church’s New Year’s cross over sermon titled It’s All About Jesus.

Munodawafa, who has been in the news for the wrong reasons, said he was elated to perform in front of a bumper crowd that is expected to gather at Limbani Shops in Chitungwiza for the conference tonight.
“Shows have been hard to come by these days and I am happy that I have been invited to perform for such a large gathering. I am going to give it all and perform to my best ability,” he said.
The musician, whose last hit song Zodzo won him position three on Radio Zimbabwe’s Coca-Cola Top 50, says he is not a spent force and is going to be in the music industry for long.
“I will continue to give praise and worship through singing and that is my calling, it is like I minister through music,” he said.
Munodawafa will be sharing the stage with Mathias Mhere and Bethany Pasinawako. The hosting Pastor Danny Joe said the conference would run under the theme It’s All About Jesus.
“Our theme has always been about our emphasis on Jesus who is the Christ and Saviour of mankind. It would be better having recently celebrated His offering to mankind as Saviour on Christmas.
“This conference, however, endorses the idea that He is King, hence His life and works we should imitate,” Pastor Joe said.
He said the choice of picking out such gospel musicians was prudent in their goal of winning souls.
“The church’s vision is to win two million souls for Christ and it is in that vein that we continue deploying our pastors wherever God directs. It is our understanding that musicians also play a crucial role in fulfilling this mandate, hence the decision to rope them in,” Pastor Joe said.
