Machingura was yesterday arraigned before Harare magistrate Elijah Makomo on charges of theft of trust property and remanded to January 5 next year.

According to State papers, Machingura entered into a deal with the complainant (Nyamakura) in January this year where he had to sell the mining equipment in return for a 5% commission.

Among the items were a Suzuki motorbike, two air compressors, four jack hammers, air hose and other accessories for the jack hammers all valued at $22 500.

The State papers further allege that Machingura secured a buyer and sold all the equipment and realised $22 500, but only remitted $12 950 to Nyamakura.

The State alleges Machingura converted $8 425 to his own use, whereas he was only entitled to $1 125 as his commission. Sharon Mashavira prosecuted the case.
