Chitembwe was not in the running for the Coach of the Year Award because he presided over less than 10 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League games, but he ends the season with some form of recognition.

The Caps United gaffer, who has lost only once since returning to the Green Machine towards the end of the season, was undefeated in the five matches his team was involved in last month.

They played out a 1-1 draw against Triangle, before settling for another 1-1 stalemate against bitter city rivals Dynamos.

He then led his charges to a 3-0 rout over How Mine and then drew 1-1 with FC Platinum.

Last weekend, they thrashed relegated WhaWha 3-1 to eventually finish in fifth place on the league table.

On a fine day for The Green Machine, they also had in-form striker Dominic Chungwa getting recognition for his goalscoring prowess. The Caps United forward was voted the Player of the Month for November.

Chungwa was the chief destroyer in a 3-0 massacre of How Mine, scoring all the three goals to help the Harare giants secure maximum points.

He also struck a brace in the 3-1 win over WhaWha in the last game of the campaign at the weekend, with midfielder Joel Ngodzo netting the other goal.

The forceful forward had also earlier scored the crucial goal that handed Chicken Inn their maiden championship with a game to spare in a 1-1 draw against the Bulawayo side’s closest title rivals FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.
