They went into the match on Sunday seeking maximum points to breathe life into their faltering campaign.

However, they met a Caps United side that showed great ambition and turned the match into an exhibition of ball control and passing, with defensive midfielder Dominic Mukandi arguably the stand out player for the Green Machine.

On Sunday, the fans witnessed a refreshing brand of passing football, which was ushered in by Lloyd Chitembwe when he took over as Caps United coach.

Even when they were one goal down after substitute Takesure Chinyama put Dynamos ahead from a cross by Ronald Chitiyo late in the second half, the Green Machine fought back to earn a point, courtesy of a header by Leonard Tsipa.

That result left Dynamos still six points off the top, with only three matches to go in the campaign.

With Chicken Inn drawing against WhaWha to take their points tally to 54, while FC Platinum beat Harare City 2-0 to close in on the GameCocks, with 52 points, Dynamos’ hopes of a fifth successive championship are increasingly fading.

Ndiraya admits they no longer had control over the title race, but insists they will fight to the bitter end.

Although he applauded his charges after taking the game to their opponents in the dying moments, in which they could have wrapped up the contest with a bit of luck, he said his charges should start winning games to achieve their objective.

“It is still game on, but our chances are diminishing with each passing day. So we need to post good results and when I say good results, we need to win the games and I think in the past three games, we have not done well. We have drawn in the three games. The focus is now on the EasyCall Cup. We hope to do well in the cup,” Ndiraya said.

Dynamos were drawn against How Mine in the EasyCall Cup, while Caps United face Hwange in the quarter-finals.
