A 39-YEAR-OLD Harare man on Friday appeared before Mbare Magistrates’ Court charged with indecent assault after he allegedly fondled a 12-year-old girl’s breasts and buttocks.

Lykse Mavhera pleaded not guilty before magistrate Kudzai Hove, who remanded him in custody to today for bail hearing.
Allegations against Mavhera, who is self-employed as a builder in Budiriro 1, Harare, are that sometime last month he hatched a plan to get the complainant into a secluded room with him.
The State alleges that Mavhera asked the minor to bring him some of his building tools which he had forgotten to take inside the house.
The court further heard that when the girl took the tools to Mavhera, the accused then started fondling the minor’s breasts and buttocks.
In her statement, the minor indicated that Mavhera in the process of fondling her was begging her to let him feel her breast and buttocks.
After the incident the complainant went on to tell her twin sister about the ordeal.

The duo later told their mother who then made a police report leading to Mavhera’s arrest.
