The Brooklyn-based representative John Ekrann, who was accompanied by his wife Denyse, will give the special speech entitled: Safeguard Your Heart, to invited guests at the Harare Assembly Hall along Simon Mazorodze/Bredon roads tomorrow.

Spokesperson for the organisation John Hunguka said the talk would be streamed to more than 200 Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses around the country.

Hunguka said Ekrann arrived in the country on a week-long visit to Zimbabwe on Tuesday to work with the local branch office and share in preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom with the local members.

“Jehovah’s Witnesses have about 100 branches around the globe and these receive yearly visits from such representatives as Mr Ekrann to update them on internal policies of the organisation and give spiritual encouragement to the members to cope with the pressures from the world under the influence of Satan which is relentlessly moving to its climax as testified by worsening world conditions in fulfilment of Bible prophecy,” Hunguka said.

“Annually Jehovah’s Witnesses have a visit by one of their headquarters staff from the United States, Brooklyn, New York. This year Mr John Ekrann and his wife Denyse landed at Harare International Airport on Tuesday evening for a week-long visit to Zimbabwe.”

He added: “Worldwide, changing weather patterns, collapsing economies, wars, changing morals and a distorted vision of what is right and wrong leave many people perplexed and hungering for satisfying answers to these and many other stressful conditions we face each day. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the antidote to all these maladies is God’s Kingdom under the hands of the Prince of Peace Jesus Christ.”

The special address to JWs countrywide comes hardly a month after Jehovah’s Witnesses organised 39 regional conventions — in six languages — at 22 different venues across the country.

Last year, the Witnesses held their first international convention in Zimbabwe which brought over 5 000 international delegates from mainly the United States, Brazil, Germany and other countries.

Hunguka yesterday invited interested people to this special programme at any of the Kingdom Halls across the country.

“Please check with local Witnesses as to the time when this will be streamed or replayed as there will be more than one sitting in most Kingdom Halls,” he said.
