The series will get underway with the three 50-over matches scheduled for November 2, 4 and 6 at Harare Sports Club before the teams play each other in two four-day matches at the same venue.

Bangladesh is expected in the country on Friday, just two days before Zimbabwe’s senior side leaves for the sub-continent nation for a tour that will comprise three one-day internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 International matches.

Having been dropped from the senior side due to poor form, Masakadza and Sibanda were part of the Zimbabwe A which played against Ireland in a four-day encounter recently.

Sibanda hardly justified an imminent return to the senior team with scores of zero and six during the drawn four-day match, while Masakadza also struggled after managing 28 runs in the first innings before being dismissed for just 12 runs in the second innings.

While Masakadza and Sibanda found the going tough during the Ireland, the four-day match proved to be a turning point for the pair of Regis Chakabva and Malcolm Waller, who scored back-to-back hundreds in both innings.

Waller has since been rewarded with a recall to Zimbabwe T20 squad, while wicketkeeper/batsman Chakabva is now almost guaranteed of a spot in the Test squad.

With the senior national side still struggling to come to terms after the humiliating series loss to Afghanistan, most players in the Zimbabwe A side would be hoping to do well against Bangladesh A.

The experienced Bangladesh A squad is captained by seasoned Shuvagata Hom, who has played seven Tests and four ODIs for the senior side.

Some of the players in the squad who have Test experience include the likes of Taijul Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, Shuvagata Hom, Soumya Sarkar, Jubair Hossain and Mohammad Shahid.

Zimbabwe’s A side is expected to be finalised later this week.
