According to group leader Kudakwashe Chibatwa, all the songs “are very spiritual” and aimed at teaching people the dangers associated with yielding oneself to the devil.

“If you see any person behaving badly either to himself/herself or to other people, just know that the devil is in control of his actions,” said Chibatwa.

He said their message castigates child marriages and sexual abuse of women within the walls of the church.

“We have crippled the church due to our actions which are not Godly and this DVD seeks to warn and teach people about it,” he said. The six-member group is comprised of congregants from Chiremba Methodist Church.

“We started singing in our church as part of praise and worship. Recording was not part of our dream, but during one performance, we touched the hearts of many and someone approached us and encouraged us to record,” Chibatwa said.

The new DVD carries eight songs, among them Ndiri paBethseda, Dombo Rakare Kare, Muchaveiko, Jerusarema and Jesu Akauya Pasi.
