Raunchy dancer Beverly “Bev” Sibanda was among the guests at the service where she went with her son. However, the controversial dancer-cum-singer did not perform as earlier indicated by her manager Hapaguti Mapimhidze.

Mapimhidze had said they were not going to the church for publicity, as many had suggested when Bev joined Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries led by Walter Magaya.

Sanyangore last week said Bev would attend church just like any other person in need of spiritual deliverance. He said: “At Victory World International Ministries, we welcome everyone and as far as we know Bev might be seeking deliverance since she has not yet registered as our member.”

Sanyangore arrived for the service as Mhere was performing and after the performance — just before the official start of the service — put his hand into the back pocket of the pair of trousers he was wearing and pulled out car keys which he handed over to the Favour hit-maker, attracting applause from the congregation.

The church’s spokesperson, Andy Sanyangore, said the church founder was a giver.

“Papa is a man who believes in giving all the times and today, Mhere is the lucky one to receive a car gift from the man of God,” he said, adding that Sanyangore had so far given 15 cars and nine stands, among other valuables, to people.

Mhere said he was overwhelmed by the gift from Sanyangore.

“I am short of words at what the man of God has done for me. This gift came as a surprise,” Mhere said.

Dancehall chanters Killer T, Terminator, Tocky Vibes and Saiwe Chimbetu were also at the service.

Sanyangore made headlines early this year when he claimed to have “killed” and “resurrected” four members of his congregation immediately after praying for them as he demonstrated what he said was the power of God to the congregants.

Sanyangore also caused a stampede at Mbare wholesale market produce, where he prayed and performed miracles for vendors.

On the day business came to a standstill in the market with scores of vendors, buyers and passers-by jostling to have a glimpse of him.
