A TECHNICAL glitch leading to the switching-off of the entire sound system sparked an orgy of violence after fans started throwing cans and bottles on the stage and VIP area on Saturday night during the highly-anticipated Charly Black concert.

The much-hyped gig, co-organised by Chipaz Promotions and Digital One, pulled a massive crowd of thousands that were packed in the spacious Long Cheng parking area.
While all seemed to have been in place for an all-night bash, things took an ugly twist when fans at the VIP retaliated by throwing some cans back resulting in a standoff that continued for almost 20 minutes and at one point saw the sound set removed from stage.
Part of the youthful crowd attributed the chaotic scenes to inconsistency in terms of acts with some saying bringing disc jockeys after an electric piece by curtain raiser Kinnah was a big mistake.
The presenters only introduced the Jamaican dancehall star in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Charly Black, however, did not disappoint as he staged a stellar show that saw fans singing along with him throughout his performance.

The energetic artiste pulled a massive performance which stretched for almost two hours, churning new and old tracks, along with high-energy dancing to the enjoyment of the fans.
Seemingly stimulated by his Me Nuh Fraid hit, the fans continued to give the outnumbered security details a hard time as they pulled down the fence demarcating the VIP and the rest of the ground in a desperate bid to catch a closer glimpse of their idol.
Meanwhile, Seh Calaz took over and after performing a few songs invited Soul Jah Love, and to prove that the speculated truce is indeed true, the two shared the stage singing each other’s lyrics and humorously dissing one another bringing the tiring crowd into life again.
They were also joined by Kinnah to complete their once famous Mbare trio which took centre-stage a few years ago.
As if that was not enough, the rumoured beef between dancehall DJs Templeman and Etherton Bennie was thrown out of the window as the two pointed out that they are pushing the same music in harmony although from different fronts.
