The airmen were among the seeded teams in the competition as they finished the first half of the Premier Soccer League season in the top half.

Following a bright start in the opening stanza of the season, coach John Nyikadzino is confident of carrying that form into the cup competition.

“At the moment our main target is to surpass the first round then see what happens in future assignments.

“I am confident we will proceed to the next stage of this tournament,” Nyikadzino said.

Nyikadzino was oozing with confidence after having done a little bit of business during the just-ended mid-season transfer window.

The highlight of his acquisitions is Dynamos reject Patrick Kumbula who scored on his debut against city rivals WhaWha while the other players were promoted from their junior ranks.

“We have added some depth and quality to our squad which has seen the team improving a lot.

“In the league our target is now to finish in the top half which I am confident we will achieve as well,” said Nyikadzino.
