Others have said urban grooves is deeper and has productions of a a quality better than the latest craze, Zimdancehall, which in its own way, is dominating the music industry.

However, this debate and many others around this issue are about to be put to a litmus test when BodySlam International hosts a Summer Festival at the Waterwhirld this Saturday.

Probably one of the most timeous intiatives of its time given the debate over Zimdancehall and urban grooves is still very much on and having the top shelf artists of both genres will provide nothing but fireworks.

The gig will host some of the big names in Zimdancehall like SoulJah Love and his musical rival Seh Calaz, Maggikal and many others.

Urban grooves is represented by Stunner, ExQ, Roki, Ba Shupi, Xtra Large and to add to add the icing is hip-hop stars Tehn Diamond and Junior Brown.

With Saturday being one of the rare days when Harare has three major shows, the Summer Festival, which starts earlier is likely to attract a larger crowd as it is priced at a the lowest entry charge of $5 for an ordinary ticket with other shows pegged at $10 and above.

While fears have previously been expressed about dancehall shows becoming violent, the comforting news has been from Simbarashe Chakare of BodySlam International, who gave assurance that security will be tight.

The stage is set. It remains for the artists to prove themselves behind the microphone.
