Patrick Madziva is also alleged to have kept a knife under his pillow forcing his wife, Tecla Muzarawetu, to desert her home for security reasons.Muzarawetu spilled the beans at the civil court where she was seeking a protection order against Madziva.

The woman claimed Madziva went on to save the axe image as his profile picture on his phone.

“He sent me a picture of an axe with a message saying “some people deserve this” and I forwarded the message to my relatives and his as well. He has also saved the same image as his profile picture for about two weeks now. My sister even called me expressing her concerns for my life,” Muzarawetu said.

Muzarawetu, who is employed as a senior school teacher, told magistrate Audrey Tarugarira that her husband was in the habit of abusing and threating her all the time, by using various objects such as knives, screw drivers and a wardrobe door amongst other things.

“I am now living in fear because of his threats and he has assaulted me using a metal object to the extent that I no longer play netball as I used to, “she said.

Muzarawetu added Madziva also accused her of having an adulterous affair with their neighbour and her daughter’s boyfriend.

However, in his defence, Madziva denied the allegations accusing Muzarawetu of infidelity.

“The man she’s having an affair with stays 800metres away from us and I have served him summons. It has been such an embarrassment as this man is known for just sleeping with anything that wears a dress including very old women,” Madziva said.

Madziva further said his wife being a senior teacher had realised her image had been battered hence she was trying to save face by bringing the matter before the court in the guise of seeking a protection order.

The matter continues on Friday.
