Harare and Bulawayo held their provincial finals last month with Marlborough and Mzilikazi emerging winners and join hosts Prince Edward and Nash Under-17 defending champions Mavhuradona of Mashonaland Central in the finals which will be held from July 31 to August 2.

The tournament is sponsored to the tune of $152 000.

Tournament director Mwandibhuya Mutepfa yesterday said all was in place for an exciting day in all the other eight provinces as schools battle for the remaining slots.

“So far so good, I think we are well on course. All the provinces are excited about this tournament and we are looking forward to a good day. We are encouraging football fans to go and support their sons and young brothers tomorrow (today),” he said.

Defending champions Mavhuradona High School would test their strength when they compete in Mashonaland Central although they are assured of their place at the finals.

District winners from Manicaland will be at Mutare Boys High while Pamushana High School will be the place to be for football lovers in Masvingo.

In Mashonaland West, schools would converge at Pfupajena Stadium, while Chemhanza High School would be a surprise exclusion from a list of schools that join at St Ignatius in Mashonaland East.
