Matabeleland, the defending champions in both categories will be providing four men’s teams and two women’s teams for the competition.

The tournament has been confirmed by Matabeleland Hockey Board (MHB) public relations officer Loveness Chirwa.

“The MHB will host the 2015 Senior Hockey Inter-Provincial tournament from July 19-19 at Khumalo Hockey Stadium. Matabeleland will be hoping to defend their title by putting up four men’s and two ladies teams. The teams have been training for a while at Khumalo and boast of a great depth and experience with the majority of players who played in the championship winning team being available this year. MHB encourages the Bulawayo hockey fans to come and support in large numbers,” Chirwa said.

Bulawayo Athletic Club is the dominant hockey club in Bulawayo and Matabeleland and is most likely to provide most of the players.

Harare, the men’s 2013 champions, will be bringing three men’s and one women’s team.

Masvingo head to Bulawayo with two men’s and one women’s team while Midlands will only provide a men’s team.

A total of 14 teams will be taking part in the competition.
