Gokwe-Kana Member of Parliament Owen Ncube has dismissed claims that he was behind the illegal invasion and eviction of two families at a house owned by former Zanu PF councillor for Kwekwe Andrew Wadi.

Ncube was cited as a respondent together with Tapiwa Muganhu in High Court case HC4321/15 in which he is accused to have illegally evicted two families from a house at Number 1 Harare Road in Kwekwe.

But Ncube said the matter was only meant to soil his image as he had nothing to do with the invasion.

In his opposing affidavit filed by his lawyer Valentine Mutatu, Ncube said he did not even know Muganhu and did not dispute that the property in question was owned by Wadi’s company W&M Motors.

“There is an allegation that I sent some people to evict the occupants of the house. The respondent state that he knows the people as my aides. I have already stated that I have no knowledge of Muganhu whatsoever. If he did that, then the law should take its course against him,” Ncube wrote.

He accused Wadi of turning the matter into politics by deliberately pointing out that Ncube was a politician as if his involvement in politics gave him immunity.

“In his founding affidavit he described me as a politician. In light of contents I now believe that this is meant to create an impression that a politician is not a law-abiding citizen,” wrote Ncube.

Ncube said since he was never near the house and has no knowledge of the people who took over the house he should not even have been party to the proceedings.

“I do not see how I despoiled the applicants. The affidavit is scanty or silent on my role in the matter. There must be an ulterior motive by the aplicants to soil my name through this matter,” submitted Ncube.

Wadi in his affidavit claims that Ncube was behind the illegal eviction of his tenants from a house he hold title deeds to. He claims Ncube through his alleged agents made the move without any court order and the police refused to help saying the matter was purely civil.
