Pasuwa and his charges were expected to leave for Cameroon this morning at 0220hrs and arrive at 1000hrs.

The team wound up their training at Greendale Sports Club yesterday with Pasuwa putting on a brave face despite taking with him a make shift side after several clubs refused to release key players for national duty on the grounds that the match is not on the Fifa calendar for international matches.

He said he would have to do with the players at his disposal. “We couldn’t get some of the players we had wanted. It has always been a problem. We had wanted especially Teenage Hadebe for the central defence but now we have to consider Lawrence Mhlanga for that position. It will not be easy because of the preparations we have had, but we are going to fight to the bitter end for a positive result. We are going to try to protect our lead from the first leg but at the same time we need to attack. If we just defend, sometimes you invite pressure so we need to balance between defending and attacking,” said Pasuwa.

The Young Warriors gaffer is set to travel with an 18 man squad. Goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva is set to guard goal while in central defence Liberty Chakoroma is likely to partner Lawrence Mhlanga while, Blessing Moyo and Ronald Pfumbidzai are set to operate as wingbacks.

Tsholotsho midfielder Gerald Takwana and Triangle’s Praise Tonha are likely to be deployed as twin anchorman with skipper Wisdom Mutasa set to be thrown into the central midfield position. Triangle’s Marlven Gaki and Dynamos’ Carlos Rusere are set to operate as wide players with Mgcini Sibanda of How Mine and Hwange’s Pritchard Mpelele set to be deployed as strikers.

Pasuwa failed to secure the FC Platinum duo of Walter Musona and Kelvin Moyo, Highlanders duo of striker Thomas Chideu and defender Hadebe.

He ended up roping in the trio of Marshal Mudewe (FC Platinum), Jimmy Kanono and Livingston Genti (Hwahwa) as some reinforcements.
