Sako Sensei Samson Muripo confirmed the trip yesterday.

“I will be going with Admire Chingozhoro, Naison Chituwa and Lovemore Nyamutswa to Japan for the world class tournament.

“We are supposed to leave for Japan on Wednesday (tomorrow) and all is almost in place. Today (yesterday) we are running around trying to get our air tickets. The opportunity of going to Japan is important to us as it will help with the standard of fighters,” he added.

“I think we have done everything in terms of preparations and we are now ready to face our opponents. Am confident we will do well,” Muripo said.

Muripo who won gold in Japan in 2009 was in 2013 crowned the Sportsmen of the Year at the Annual National Sports Awards for his efforts on the international arena.

He also won bronze at the World Kyokushin Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2013.
