One has to toil in the studio for years to be a force to reckon with in the music industry.

When upcoming gospel musician Tafadzwa Mukaro embarked on her gospel expedition with the release of her debut six-track album called Mwari Anesu, she was not sure how it would be received by gospel music lovers.

It was, however, a different hymn for Mukaro’s groundbreaking album that contains uplifting and soulful messages of hope, love and faith with a unique refreshing Afro-jazz sound that saw her becoming a household name with her debut release.

The album received fair air play on local radio stations with one of her songs Mhinduro coming second on last year’s Star FM Gospel Greats Final Top 50. Mukaro has proved that she is a serious contender in the gospel genre.

Listening to her music, the musician’s strength lies mainly in vocals as she has a voice that possibly takes her to rise to the top of the music ladder.

“Our debut album was well received by gospel lovers across the country and the overwhelming feedback has given us the strength to work on the second album to be realised during the first week of April as we remain focused on our mission to spread the Word of God through music,” Mukaro said. “We will be releasing another six-track album titled Tinomurumbidza and I am optimistic that with the efforts I have taken to polish it, it will be well received by our fans.”

Mukaro said songs to be featured on the forthcoming album recorded at Lyton Studios and produced by veteran producer Lyton Ngolomi are Mufaro WaJehohva, Mwari Munogona, Nyika Nekuzara Kwayo, Munamato Unesimba, Ishe Ndauya and Zviriko.

“There is more depth and groove on the forthcoming album which will be accompanied by a compilation DVD for our fans to enjoy in the comfort of their homes,” she said.“The message carried on the forthcoming album is based on Bible teachings and events with some of the songs being inspired by personal experiences, hurdles and life challenges.”

After recording her debut album with session musicians, Mukaro has decided to take her music career a step further by assembling a six-member permanent band called Faith Movers.

“Very soon we will embark on concerts countrywide as a way of marketing the album prior to its launch,” she said.

Mukaro’s musical journey started at a tender age when she was at Hartzell Primary School in Mutare.

She in 2005, she toured America as she was part of the Africa University Choir where she did her tertiary education.

Mukaro who draws her inspiration from the First Family of Gospel Music Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia credits her husband Wisdom for helping her in composing and arranging the songs.

The Charambas have and continue to inspire many upcoming artistes to join the mainstream gospel music scene.
