Most people in the informal sector are using cheap and illegal marketing methods to lure potential customers.

Most people in the informal sector are using cheap and illegal marketing methods to lure potential customers.

One of the methods they are using is to place advertisements on undesignated points like trees, road signs and electricity poles.

The messages they write vary depending on which side of the city one resides. In low density areas, messages range from advertising about tree cutting, electric repairs, and lawn mowing.

In the high density suburbs they are about offering services like, traditional healing, grinding meals and sewing machine repairs. Such variations reflect different living standards which are themselves a consequence of different levels of income and even educational backgrounds.
