AWARD-WINNING gospel hip hop rapper Zvikomborero Nyamandi, affectionately known in music circles as Lil Meggaz, is currently working on a video featuring gospel sensation Flame B.
The much-anticipated video titled Chakachaya is slated to hit the market on March 1, adding to the two he has so far.
The 22-year-old lyricist said he had been motivated to make the video by the great reception of the track in his nationwide tours.
“This video comes after the lovely response I got in various performances around Zimbabwe for the track Chakachaya featuring Flame B which I released last year,” said Lil Meggaz.
The winner of the Best CD Artwork in Hip-hop gospel awards held in Harare last year further went on to describe the video as a “unique” masterpiece which will complement the already loved lyrics.
“The song in itself is a unique fusion of two gospel genres with Flame B bringing in his dance feel so it has the capacity to grasp the interest of all gospel lovers,” he added.
Gospel sensation Blessing “Flame B” Manyangadze said working with Lil Meggaz had taught him how to compromise between the two distinct genres and in the end coming out with a greatly synchronised product.
“We had to meet on common ground which was playing around with the instrumentals so that it can fit my style too and finally it worked out perfectly.
“If you want something then you have to find a way to make it work and usually in the end it works out even more than you imagined,” said the Hatidzokere Kumba hit-maker.
Hip-hop gospel artists have become a growing marvel among local music lovers as evidenced by the satisfactory turnouts at their shows. The genre gained even more relevance for its successful initial awards in December last year.
