MANCHESTER — Santi Cazorla scored one goal and created another as Arsenal ended Manchester City’s 12-match unbeaten run

MANCHESTER — Santi Cazorla scored one goal and created another as Arsenal ended Manchester City’s 12-match unbeaten run and damaged their English Premier Soccer League title hopes with a stunning 2-0 win at the Etihad Sunday night.

Spain playmaker Cazorla converted a first-half penalty after Vincent Kompany fouled Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal added a second after the break when Cazorla’s free-kick picked out Olivier Giroud and the France striker headed in from close range. The result left City five points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.

In an earlier match, West Ham moved back to within four points of the Champions League places after consigning relegation-threatened Hull to a third consecutive defeat with a 3-0 beating. Steve Bruce’s injury-ravaged Hull had the better of the first half but were badly exposed after the break.

Andy Carroll prodded in after Allan McGregor pushed out Enner Valencia’s shot and a cute Morgan Amalfitano dink from Valencia’s pass doubled the lead. Stewart Downing then rolled in a third after Alex Song split the Hull defence.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all won without conceding in their Premier League games on Saturday.

Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert were on target as the Reds secured a 2-0 win at Aston Villa, while Marouane Fellaini and James Wilson netted in United’s 2-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers. Chelsea romped past Swansea City 5-0 with a brace apiece from Diego Costa and Oscar, with Andre Schuerrle capping off a fine performance.
