Zimbabwe Has Got Talent contestants continue to shine


AT the grand finale of the inaugural Zimbabwe Has Got Talent concert two months ago, the event organisers promised to fly the top three winners of the competition to China to showcase their talent at different cultural exchange programmes.


While they wait for their biggest first stride to showcase their talent in China, the top 10 finalists, among them, overall winner Divine Chitubura, Dzivarasekwa-based dance group — The Incredibles and dancer Devante

Sanganza are enjoying the success getting the much needed exposure in their careers as they stage live shows at different joints.

Last week, some of them mesmerised guests who thronged the newly opened 1+1 Club situated at Longcheng Plaza Mall in Belvedere, Harare with sterling performances during the Chinese Federation of Zimbabwe (CFZ) party.

The two-fold event was used to launch the Zimbabwe Has Got Talent Champions Night concert to be held on New Year’s Eve at the same venue while at the same time celebrating the success of the Zimbabwe Has Got Talent concert, a project of CFZ in partnership with ZLG.

The concert is aimed at identifying and exposing various talents from different ethnic communities in the country.

At the show, some of the top 10 finalists shared the stage with afro-fusion jazz musician Alexio Kawara.

As they continue to get the exposure, on New Year’s Eve, the top 10 qualifiers will share the stage with renowned musicians, among them, Leornard Mapfumo, dancehall chanters Seh Calaz, Kinnah and Killer T at a concert dubbed Zimbabwe Has Got Talent Champions Night.

Popular wheel spinners from a local radio stations will be rocking it on the turntables at the show.

Speaking to NewsDay event spokesperson, Rumbidzai Matinanga, said all is set for the show with the performing artistes promising fireworks at the show.

“Preparations of the Zimbabwe Has Got Talent Champions Night are at an advanced stage and
we are urging people to come in their numbers and witness young Zimbabweans showcasing their different talents,” she said.

Matinanga said next year they will continue with their vision to support untapped local talent.
“There are many talented and yet to be paraded youths in our communities whom we seek to promote and help them live on their talents and Zimbabwe Has Got Talent is the platform for them to showcase their talents.”

The Zimbabwe Has Got Talent Champions Night show promises to be a thriller as the billed artistes are wellknown for putting up sterling performances.

Seh Calaz, who is currently enjoying a purple patch as one of the gifted rhymers in the genre, will be out to prove his prowess on the mic. Killer T real name Kelvin Kusikwenyu famed for his Popopopo trademark chant is also no pushover as he has a record of mesmerising audiences.
