Twaliki, a key player under Luke Masomere last season when they won the BancABC Sup8er Cup, let in two goals that were viewed with suspicision, leading fans to throw missiles at him.

Masomere is now head coach at How Mine.

Shabanie coach Jairos Tapera said: “The loss to How Mine last week complicated our situation and I am very disappointed with the outcome of that game.”

The coach has conceded that saving the asbestos miners from Castle Lager Premier Soccer League axe is now beyond his control.

Four bottom teams will be relegated at the end of the campaign and already Bantu Rovers and Chiredzi have made their way to the second tier.

The Chinda Boys are third from the foot with 32 points from 28 games and host Highlanders at Maglas on Sunday in a match they must win at all costs to stand a chance of remaining in the top-flight.

Shabanie are two points behind the quartet of Black Rhinos, Harare City, Triangle and Chapungu, which leaves them at the risk of being dropped from the elite league even if they win both their remaining matches against Highlanders and Triangle.

But if at least two of the above mentioned quartet stumble along the way and the asbestos miners if they win both their remaining games, they will retain their Premiership status next season.

However, it is given that some teams above Shabanie Mine will stagger along the way considering that the duo of Chapungu and Black Rhinos are yet to play against each other and again Triangle will host Shabanie.

“It is now beyond our control, but we will fight until the last game and you never know with football. We can win all our remaining matches and still remain in the relegation zone. Actually, we will do our best to win all our remaining matches.

“At this point, what I can assure is that we have two games still to play and I am very confident that we will collect maximum points,” he said.
