The race was initially slated for this weekend, but was pushed to next month as Leopard Rock Hotel was fully booked.
There was chaos in the 21km main event after Harare-based Blue Stars club athlete Coniscious “Navara” Nyamutsita hit the ribbon first after just 57 minutes to break the world record of 58,23 minutes set by Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea in 2010 in Lisbon.
But it was later realised that Navara he had cut more than three kilometers due to lack of markings.
Manicaland Athletics Board chairman Joshua Matume said: “The race will be finally held on November 8.
“We hope this year the race is going to attract many athletes just like in the previous three years.”
Rutendo Nyahora and Collin Kanyimo clinched last year’s race in the male and female categories respectively.
