Newsflash: Konshens cancels Zimbabwe tour

JAMAICAN artiste Konshens, born Garfield Spence who was billed to headline this year’s edition of Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival slated for tomorrow at the Glamis Arena, has cancelled the tour.

Koshens becomes the second Jamaican artistes to cancel his African tour after Luciano who was billed to perform at the Sting 2014 in November also cancelled his African shows on Wednesday.

In a communiqué send by Delta Beverages yesterday, the organisers of the festival said the festival activities and line up remain unchanged.

“Owing to directives from the Jamaican government barring performing artists from that country to any country on the African continent citing concerns over Ebola hemorrhagic fever, Koshens has cancelled his trip,”

“Lion Lager remains committed to producing a brilliant show on the 11th of October 2014. The festival activities and line up remain unchanged.” Read part of the statement.

South African house music group, Uhuru, of the Y-Tjukutja fame will be the only foreign act that will share stage with seven local artistes among them man of the moment Tocky Vibes, Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Legendary Sound, Judgement Yard, Shinso Man, and Soul Jah Love at the show.

Last year, Nigerian star D’Banj and Ugandan Babe Cool performed at the festival.
