CHARTERED secretaries will discuss ways of unlocking Zimbabwe’s economic potential when they meet for their annual conference at the Montclair Resort and Casino starting on Friday.

The conference ends on Saturday.

Information, Media and Broadcasting Services minister Jonathan Moyo is expected to deliver the keynote address at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe conference. The institute’s president Richard Summers will officially open the conference on Friday.

Other presenters include Vaka Africa chief executive Nyasha Zhou who will speak on corporate governance dynamics in small and medium-scale businesses and MorniPac Consultants managing consultant Whisper Rukanda who will make a case for harnessing technology for business growth.

Comptroller and Auditor General Mildred Chiri is set to open Saturday’s proceedings with a presentation on how instilling good corporate governance in the public sector was everyone’s responsibility.

Ernst and Young risk advisory associate director Tagarira Mutenga will speak on effective conflict management.

Labour and Economic Development Research Institute of Zimbabwe executive director Godfrey Kanyenze will talk about the challenges of the changing financial management landscape in Zimbabwe.

Employment to Performance — Bridging the Gap will be the final presentation to be made by Distinctive Consultants managing director Rose Nhamo.

A panel discussion in which various presenters will participate will wind up the formal conference proceedings followed by Summers’ closing remarks.

There will be a formal banquet on Saturday evening at which the 2013 Chartered Secretary of the Year would be announced and presented with a trophy.
