Munyaradzi Chichetu (32), from Unit F, who pleaded guilty, was initially sentenced to 12 months in prison by Chitungwiza magistrate Donald Ndirowei.
Prosecutor Edmund Ndambakuwa told the court that on August 17, the complainant, Gerald Muchenje, a nurse at Chitungwiza Central Hospital, was on his way home from the car park when he saw the accused.
As Muchenje was entering his yard while speaking on the phone, Chichetu extended his hand towards the phone.
The complainant switched off the phone and asked what the accused person wanted. But he was not answered as Chichetu became violent and started assaulting his neighbour.
The complainant pinned Chichetu down, but the latter quickly broke free, stood up and ran to his house calling one Killian. He came back from the house and threw a stone which hit the complainant on the head.
The court heard that Chichetu also brought with him a spear and a crow bar and he threw the spear at the complainant, but he missed him.
