Speaking to NewsDay, King Alfred’s manageress Paidamoyo Manzwimairi said they would be involved in many projects as part of their social responsibility.

“King Alfred, with the assistance of his friends Justin Manjengwa, Thabani Sithole and Ella Ruoko-Mahanzu all in the United Kingdom, organised some shows and managed to raise funds to buy the generator for a community in which he stayed before relocating to the UK,” Manzwimairi said.

“We are going to be involved in many projects in future, not only to Glen View, but across the country.”

Manzwimairi said King Alfred was determined to provide local musicians with a platform to showcase their talents in the UK.

At present, King Alfred has asisted local Zimdancehall artistes like Winky D, Killer T, Shinsoman, Freeman and Lady Squanda among others, who have performed in the UK at different venues.

King Alfred, who is an outstanding community leader, a mentor and talented artiste in his own right, also earned a mentorship programme with the ZimTalent Hunt project.

He set up his New Generation Sound in 1988 with his two brothers General Oliver and Slauta G. They remained underground as they were just playing at weddings,  graduation parties and in some ghetto backyard clashes.

King Alfred’s passion and interest for arts grew in 1990 when his uncle Oliver Kusemwa bought him a disco system. To date he is still going strong on the showbiz.

He has worked with many international DJs and artistes like Tony Matterhorn, Black Cat, Mighty Crown, Bass Odessey, Chris Goldfinger, Robbo Ranx, Mr Easy, Ninjaman, Busy Signal, Mavado and Bounty Killer.

Meanwhile, King Alfred who is a patron of Miss Zimbabwe UK has also endorsed the Miss Zimbabwe UK 2014 at his birthday bash on August 23.
