Sportivo remain at the top of the log with 14 points while Old Georgians are fifth with six points.

Old Georgians got their tries from Farai Jijita, Jacque Leitao and Sean Coles with Ryan Sprake missing one of the conversions for the Dragons. However, it was Teddy Hwata, Eurry Maphosa and Stephen Hunduza who sealed the victory for Sportivo.

Old Georgians finished last season as runners up after falling to Old Hararians in the final with HSC coming in at third position. Old Hararians demolished Zvishavane Bulls 84-3.

Zvishavane are still to get off the blocks having gone three games without a win after losing to Harare Sports Club 86-0 in their opening match and Gweru Sports Club 43-19 in the second week.

This was the second big win for defending champions Old Hararians who dismissed Western Panthers 87-3 in their first match.

Old Hararians are second on the log with 10 points and are tied with Matabeleland Busters. Busters were on a bye.

Panthers recorded their second win of the season when they beat Gweru Sports Club 50-39 at Hartsfield Rugby Ground.

Player-coach Zwelonke Mloiswa led from the front scoring a try for Gweru Sports Club with Kelvin Magunje scoring a brace while Tawanda Chakani and Joseph Mudzingwa weighing in with one each. Mayibongwe Ncube’s hattrick and same number of conversions gave Panthers the edge over Gweru Sports Club with Manfred Musendo’s brace also adding to the visitor’s woes.

Ntandoyenkosi Ndlovu, George Hlatshwayo and George Madzikatire scored a try each.
