The City Fathers have already equalled the dubious honour set by Sporting Lions in 2004, Zimbabwe Saints in 2006 and Shabanie Mine in 2011 of five opening league defeats in a row.

Of the three, only Shabanie Mine managed to survive the dreaded chop at the end of the season.

The Municipal side only needs to lose today against the platinum miners to be the new record holders of a false start if they are condemned to their sixth consecutive loss.

But head coach Bigboy Mawiwi was calm ahead of the trip to the Midlands when contacted for comment by NewsDay Sport and attributed the horrendous start to lady lucky which has eluded him.

“We are not under pressure at all pressure. If I was feeling the pressure, then there is no need for me to go there. Instead, pressure is on FC Platinum who are playing at home.

“We are going into the match aiming to get maximum points and if they are underrating us, they are doing that at their own peril.

“We have been playing well. Wwe played badly against Chicken Inn only, but in other four matches, luck was not on our side.

“Maxwell (Nyamupanedengu), Crispen (Dickson) and Munyaradzi (Kunyarimwe) will not be available for the match, but we have other players who can fill the void they have left,” Mawiwi said.

FC Platinum coach Lloyd Mutasa has shepherded the platinum miners to an uninspiring start, having managed to win only once in the league at home against Caps United.

Mutasa parted ways with his long-time lieutenant Masimba Dinyero last week and will be hoping that his new assistant, Ralph Kawondera, will come in with some tactical acumen so that they can get their second win of the season.
