BRIGHT Chivandire is the new Sables team manager, the Zimbabwe Rugby Union confirmed yesterday.

In statement, the union said: “The Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) have formally announced Bright Chivandire as the Team Manager of the National XV’s, the Sables. The ZRU Appointments Committee had conducted an extensive selection process, after having received a number of applications for the role.
“Final interviews were completed last week, the Appointments Committee made recommendations to the ZRU Executive Committee based on their deliberations, procedures and processes.
“With 22 years of experience within the Zimbabwe Rugby fraternity, Bright has represented the country as a player for the Sables, fulfilled various roles in the ZRU, including a long and successful tenure as Head Coach of the National U20 side.
“Bright’s extensive experience and wide knowledge of the game, players and stakeholders in the sport will contribute positively to the team environment; the ZRU and the Sables national team welcome Bright to the position.”
He replaces Losson Mtongwiza who quit after a racism storm.
