THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) is today set to rule on the incident in which urine-like liquid was thrown at army side Buffaloes’ goal

THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) is today set to rule on the incident in which urine-like liquid was thrown at army side Buffaloes’ goal during their match against Harare giants Caps United at Gwanzura Stadium on Sunday.

PSL boss Kenny Ndebele yesterday said they had received a report on the incident from the referee and match commissioner.

“We have been waiting for a report from the match official and we have now received it,” Ndebele said.

“We are now studying it and will state our position tomorrow (today). Whoever will be found answerable will be called to a disciplinary hearing.”

Buffaloes coach Luke Masomere and his players could not take their seats when the second half resumed at Gwanzura on Sunday as he claimed the seats had been soiled by Caps United players.

The referee also had to remove a plastic bottle containing a substance which looked like urine which was thrown at the visitors’ goal area by unruly supporters who felt Buffaloes were using juju on their goal area to prevent Caps United from scoring.

The match, which finished goalless, was beamed live on SuperSport.

The top-flight league management has described the incident as embarrassing and a bad advertisement for the local game, challenging players and supporters to uphold the true spirit of football.

Meanwhile, Caps United travel to Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Saturday to face FC Platinum while Dynamos, who recovered from a defeat by FC Platinum in the Independence Cup final last week to dismiss Bantu Rovers on Monday, face off against troubled Harare City.

Harare City, also known as Sunshine City Boys, have had a disastrous start to the 2014 PSL campaign after suffering three successive defeats, which have left them at the foot of the table.

Reports suggest the team is being sabotaged by a member of the executive who is unhappy that coach Bigboy Mawiwi did not retain Godfrey Nguwodzawo and Edgar Tapera, who have since left the club.

The team executive was yesterday scheduled to meet to review the situation which, if unchecked, could plunge the team into an irretrievable nosedive.
