Speaking to NewsDay, the founder and director of FMGZ, Nox Chatiza, said all the categories of filmmaking would be accommodated in the online directory.

“The FMGZ online directory will accommodate contacts and biographies of people who offer all special services to the motion picture industry which will be listed accordingly,” Chatiza said.

“This service is available to everyone who is in the film industry or film business — as an individual or company.”

Chatiza said for the process which is free of charge they require personal and professional details, profile, picture, contact details and sample of work or film trailer where possible.

Interested individuals can submit their information via email to: [email protected] or visit their offices at Number 57 Mazowe Street, Harare.

“FMGZ creates and facilitates policy formulations and conferences which discuss subjects around challenges and development through consulting and collaborating with various stakeholders,” Chatiza said.

He urged local filmmakers to develop a culture of partnership for the growth of the industry.

“Collaborations are a missing link among local filmmakers which we are saying must change so as to take the sector to greater heights,” Chatiza said.

“The problem is that most of us would like to work as individuals, but we should note that there is strength in numbers.”
