What makes the matches interesting is that both teams are from the Eastern Region, the first match will be played at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday, before the soldiers descend on Chiredzi the following day. Buffaloes lost at home 2-0 against Harare City before being whipped 3-1 by Triangle in the Lowveld.

Masomere is set to decide on the fate of veterans James Matola and Evans Gwekwerere who are currently training with the army side.

“I can’t say much about this weekend’s matches. We are aiming to build a moderate squad, we are still trying various combinations and we could have named our final squad a few weeks back, but with new players coming in, we had to delay that process,” he said.

“We are going to announce our final squad on Friday (tomorrow). I think both Gwekwerere and Matola will know their fate on that day, we have been assessing them, but Gwekwerere joined us last weekend,” he added.
