DA up for $6 000 bribery

Jecheche is facing a criminal abuse of office charge as a public officer as defined in section 174 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act chapter 9:23.

The State’s case is that on October 15, 2013 at the DA’s office, Chegutu, in the exercise of his functions as a public officer, accused allegedly received $6 000 bribe from Honest Mushangwe in a bid to facilitate the acquisition of an A2 plot at Hunyani Estates, Chegutu.

The matter was later reported to the police leading to accused’s arrest.

The matter is scheduled to be heard by magistrate Sam Chitumwa today. Vote Zishiri is representing the State.
