Companies turn to Ecocash payroll

THE number of companies using EcoCash to pay their workers has risen dramatically because of the liquidity problems facing some banks.

Business Reporter

Econet Services chief executive Darlington Mandivenga said there had been a sharp increase in the number of firms paying their workers using EcoCash Payroll.

“Last month (January 2014) we saw an 82% increase in the number of companies using EcoCash Payroll,” Mandivenga said.

“People who are paid first by EcoCash Payroll are guaranteed access to their money. If they then want to move some of it to a bank, it is up to them, but it is important that people know they can get their money. We guarantee that you will get access to your money.”

Mandivenga also said that Econet allowed its agents to access liquidity support through Steward Bank if they ever run out of cash.

“We are the only operator who has the capacity to pump cash into our agents to guarantee that money is available when you need it,” he said.

Mandivenga also advised people who have had problems getting
access to their salaries at banks to ask their employers to rather pay them through EcoCash Payroll.

“My advice is that people should go to their employers and give them their EcoCash details for next month’s salary. There is really no need to wait,” he said.

  1. ecocash murimbavha dzevanhu macharges enyu are too high , imagine if sending 100 dlrs u part both the sender an receiver with up to 9 dlrs what is that on ATM U ARE CHARGED ONL Y 2 DLRS i dnt knw if MASIIWA KNWS THIS

    • this is different from green fuel my dear were our government has imposed it on us. You are comparing ATM with ecocash this things never match. do you have ATM kUMARAINI KWENYU OR YOU DRIVE TO WERE IT IS . Did any one from econet forced you to send money through the platform or it is you after considering all the available options you take ecocash because of the advantages you shy to name for yourself.

    • Ecocash is not a non-profit organisation. If the charges are high, siyana nayo. Kana kuti enda unoshandisa the inferrior Telecash. why are Zimbabweans used to complaining. You have a choice my brother. Use it or die!

  2. don’t attack people who are raising legitimate points. ecocash is just too expensive and it should not take advantage that people are stranded because of mugabeism. charges should reflect the challenges which ordinary people are facing than taking advantage of people who survive on less than $1 per day. come on, I hope telecel will take advantage of this madness

  3. This is a concern & if Econet really cares for its customers why are they taking to long to justify themselves?

  4. Ecocash is the best initiative ever to happen to Zimbabwe. So convenient and resembles some degree of integrity in econet

  5. Actually i dont see any problem with Ecocash. It depends on whether if you have money or not. Transfer charges on my perception are nothing to me, a man who earns half a million dollars in monthly salaries and allowances.

  6. upto I saw the paycheck which had said $9176 , I accept that my mom in-law woz actualie taking home money parttime from their laptop. . there best friend has done this for less than 1 year and recently cleared the loans on their place and bought a great new Lotus Elise . this page,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, http://WWW.Works6.COM
