THE Highlanders squad for the 2014 Premier Soccer League season is almost complete with two slots remaining following their weekend signing of Warriors trio Charles Sibanda, Milton Ncube and Peter “Rio” Moyo.

Bosso are now left with two slots as they still chase for the signature of another Warriors player and Chicken Inn skipper Felix Chindungwe and a possible loan deal of speedy attacking left linkman Kudakwashe Mahachi, who also played for Chicken Inn last year and is now a Mamelodi Sundowns player.

Although Mahachi denied that he had signed with Sundowns after he arrived from South Africa last week, Bantu Rovers secretary Wilbert Sibanda on Saturday said the left-footed linkman now belonged to the Brazilians.

“We cannot comment on the player now as he now belongs to Sundowns,” Sibanda said on Saturday.

The Bulawayo giants are also left with filling the five slots for juniors. Chindungwe is hopeful of signing with Bosso anytime soon and was due to meet with his manager Sanangurai Mushove later yesterday to further discuss his next move as the manager has been outside the country.

“I am having a meeting later with my manager, who was outside the country and as it stands everything looks okay,” Chindungwe said yesterday.

However, Chindungwe’s deal could hit a snag as Chicken Inn have said any club that wants the dreadlocked defender should approach them as he is still contractually tied to the club.

Club chairman Lifa Ncube, who was watching the How Mine versus Chuoni FC Caf Confederation Cup tie at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday said: “He (Chindungwe) is still our player and any club that wants him should approach us.”

A source last week told Southern Eye Sport that Chicken Inn contracts have a clause that ties a player to them even after their contracts have expired and Chindungwe is said to have agreed to terms with the GameCox before leaving for African Nations Championships and if he signs for Bosso, his case might head for the Zifa Player Status Committee.

If Bosso fail on Chindungwe, after losing Hwange’s Erick Chipeta, they might have to settle for prodigal son Zephania Ngodzo, Brighton Choto or former Motor Action defender Walter Musanhu, who trained with Highlanders last week.

A big boost for Highlanders was the return of goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya, who has already extended his stay at Bosso, Ncube and Rio and the signing of Sibanda at the weekend.

Diya started training last week on Thursday. After signing Sibanda, Ncube and Rio on Saturday, Highlanders treasurer Jerry Sibanda was beaming with confidence saying: “We have everything under control.”

Bosso, who have retained most of their senior players save for Masimba Mambare and Njabulo Ncube who joined Dynamos and FC Platinum respectively and have signed six players in the current Zifa transfer window period from other clubs.

Bosso have clinched deals with Joel “Josta” Ngodzo, Sibanda, Welcome Ndiweni (FC Platinum) Valentine Ndaba (Shabanie), Khumbulani Banda (How Mine) and goalkeeper Njabulo Nyoni (Chicken Inn).
