TALENTED guitarist and vocalist Tendai Manatsa will tonight perform in his debut solo show at Book Café after he had taken a break in his career to give his wife Selmor Mtukudzi a chance to promote her music.

After going solo for about a year, Manatsa will take the stage tonight side-by-side with afro-jazz sensation Tracy “Pah Chihera” Mbirimi, who is currently making waves with her song Runonzi Rudo.
Speaking to NewsDay, Tendai, who is son to legendary musician, Zexie Manatsa, said he was prepared for the show and urged fans to come in their numbers and enjoy what he promises to be a show to remember.
“I am happy that tomorrow (today) marks my debut solo performance after spending some time off stage. I am happy to reunite with my fans tonight,” the dreadlocked singer said.
Manatsa said he would do a lot of shows to promote his music across the country this year and he would also be staging shows with bigger names in the near future and logistics were currently underway.
The musician had been performing together with his wife since 2005, but said they had since chosen to take solo music paths early last year to allow each other to reach their fullest potential.
Tendai is regarded as one of the most talented local guitarists and vocalists and has been involved in many projects featuring musicians and poets working towards cultural activism and human rights in the country.
