Privilege Rufonya (25) made the claims when her husband Leo Rangarira (41) appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Kudakwashe Jarabhini facing assault charges. The couple has two children together.
The court heard that on December 23 last year, a dispute arose when the complainant asked her husband to provide her with money to buy food for the family.
The court heard that Rangarira was not amused by the request as he was used to buying the food instead of delegating that responsibility to his wife.
In a fit of rage, he allegedly assaulted her inflicting severe head injuries on her.
Rufonya reported the matter to the police, leading to Rangarira’s arrest.
The woman told the court that she would rather die than live with the accused person.

The matter was postponed to tomorrow.
