Nyakudya’s relationship with the recording company had once reached a bitter end that at one point led to the musician’s arrest.

However, the recently-mended relationship will see the recording company distributing Nyakudya’s latest album titled Mabasa.

“I have been in the industry for many years and I think this is the time to show my fans that I am no longer the same. That experience has refined me and I am ready to conquer the gospel music scene,” said Nyakudya.

Mabasa is an interesting package that is composed of 12 tracks like Gorogotha, title track Mabasa, Ngatimukudze, Jehovha Ndiye Mhinduro and Nzira Dzashe among other songs.

The Ndamuona Jesu hit- maker said the album was dedicated to orphans and proceeds from its sales would be channelled towards their rehabilitation and welfare.

“I am currently working with Mathew Rusike Children’s Home and some other homes that I will not mention for now although basically I have devoted myself to giving back to the community through this project,” said Nyakudya.

The talented musician said he had hoped to do this for a while, but the project had been hampered by financial constraints.

Nyakudya says he aim to take his career to greater heights thus has moved from the use of digital beats for recording, to live instruments showing maturity in the sector where the use of backtracks is slowly being relegated to the bygones.

“This new album will be accompanied by videos of songs like Mabasa, Zvinogwadama, Jesu Muridzi and Jehovha Ndiye Mhinduro among others from my previous albums,” he said.

Nyakudya rose to fame with the hit track, Taurai Neni, which landed him on a good position on the map of the country’s most talented young gospel musicians. To date he has worked with both local and regional artistes including South African gospel songstress Phaphani.
