CELEBRATION Choir, led by Pastor Bonnie Deuschle, will today headline a clash of praise and worship gospel choirs

CELEBRATION Choir, led by Pastor Bonnie Deuschle, will today headline a clash of praise and worship gospel choirs dubbed the Pentecostal High Energy Gospel Concert at the Harare International Conference Centre.

The event co-ordinator Benjamin Rupapa said the first of its kind concert is aimed at celebrating talent in the Pentecostal choirs as they worship through song and dance.

“We have realised that there are several choirs from different Pentecostal denominations that have been making waves on the gospel sector throughout the year hence coming with such an event to celebrate that talent,” Rupapa said.

Rupapa has, however, urged families to come in their numbers and join in worshiping at the show, adding that all the choirs billed to perform would be given equal time on stage.

Those who follow gospel concerts can attest that the Celebration Choir is also another choir to reckon in praise and worship ahead of some big choirs like Zimpraise choir.

Some of the top local Pentecostal praise and worship choirs that are billed to perform at the event include Harvest Song, AFM Shiloh Praise Choir, UFIC, New Life Covenant Praise, Zaoga Worship, Ultimate Worship Choir, and Zaoga Braeside, among others.

Meanwhile, Zimpraise chief executive Joseph Madziyire has applauded the gesture by the event organisers, describing it as a milestone in the gospel genre.

“This is a must appreciated effort to the show organisers who has come to see how value it is to accord these praise choirs such a platform to showcase their talent out side their churches but at the same time preaching the word of God,” Madziyire said.

The country’s gospel landscape is currently experiencing a new style of praise and worshipping as evidenced by several choirs that have emerged.
