TWO  robbers broke into a  shop in  Harare’s CBD  in the early hours of  last Tuesday and  got away with  five laptop computers.

TWO  robbers broke into a  shop in  Harare’s central business district  in the early hours of  last Tuesday and  got away with  five laptop computers  worth  about $5 000, police confirmed today.

The two robbers were however captured on closed circuit television (CCTV) throughout the robbery which occurred at the corner of 3rd Street and Nelson Mandela Avenue a stonethrow away from Parliament. link to footage The robbers got away in a Mercedes Benz C200 salon which was being driven by a colleague who stayed in the vehicle while the other two broke into Appliance Expert Home Office.

The owner of the shop, Masimba Chigama told NewsDay yesterday that although the break-in was captured on CCTV the suspects have not yet been arrested.

“We  have given the footage to the police but their investigations have not yielded much hence our appeal to you to post it on your widely read on-line edition in case there is someone who might be able to identify the culprits,” he said.

A policeman investigating the matter confirmed today that they had not yet made any arrests in connection with the break-in.
