The defending Premier Soccer League champions host struggling Monomotapa at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow in a match the technical team are demanding should be won.

Dynamos manager Richard Chihoro yesterday described the loss to Hwange as humiliating and called on the players to respond accordingly.

“The team just didn’t play. I can single out one or two players from that match who I think played better, but overall we didn’t pitch up and we were humiliated,” said Chihoro yesterday.

“We cannot continue to play like that if we are serious in retaining the title this year. We have to improve, we have to bounce back and that should start with the next match. We are playing a Monomotapa side who have not been doing well lately, but we know that all teams raise their game when they play against Dynamos and we will have to be at our very best.”

Monomotapa are going into the match on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw against Tripple B on Thursday, which was their first point in their last seven league matches.

The 2008 league champions dominated play and could have easily won the match, but a combination of poor finishing and bad luck worked against them.

However, their coach Biggie Zuze was happy they managed to create the chances and he is hoping that his team will be lucky in tomorrow’s match.

“It’s going to be difficult, Dynamos are coming from a defeat and they would be under pressure to deliver to their fans. I was happy with the performance of the team (against Tripple B) although we failed to convert the chances we created. The good thing is we created those chances and if we keep our heads high, we will get something out of the match,” said Zuze.

Dynamos, who are top of the log courtesy of a one point-lead over Highlanders and Harare City, welcome back their defensive rock Patson Jaure from suspension.

“It’s now clear that our defence cannot cope without Jaure. We are relieved that he is back,” said Chihoro.

Monoz striker Allen Tavarwisa will be facing his former paymasters for the first time since swapping teams in the July transfer window.
